Sponsor a Workshop on Sharing Jerusalem at your church
A new project has been initiated on the middle east that focuses on a Shared Jerusalem as the core issue to achieving peace in the area. Started by Jim Vitarello, member of Foundry UMC in Washington, DC and co-sponsored by MFSA, the project offers churches, synagogues and mosques the leaders and materials to carry out workshops that supports Jerusalem being a city of peace where Christians, Jews and Muslims have free access to their respective holy sites.
Sharing Jerusalem supports a two-state solution that provides for a secure Israel, a politically and economically viable Palestine, an equitable resolution of the Palestinian refugee issue, and a Shared Jerusalem - a city sacred to all the children of Abraham.
In addition, the Sharing Jerusalem campaign is sponsoring regional and national Church Action Networks to channel and facilitate the activism of participating churches and church members in areas such as ensuring balanced coverage of the conflict by our media. While each church will be encouraged to develop its own Church Action Plan, the Church Action Network will assist in the interchange of ideas and coordinate joint activities.
