Palestine Peace Coalition (PPC) Promotes
"Culture of Peace” Among Palestinian Youth

The Palestinian Peace Coalition is promoting a “Culture of Peace” program in dozens of workshops, seminars, summer camps and other activities in villages, towns and refugee camps of the West Bank The PPC promotes democracy as the main pillar of peace and tries to give young Palestinian men and women the tools to become more active in their society. In 2004, the programs involved 10,000 youth among sports groups, university students, and security agencies, according to an article on the Miftah website. The PPC cooperates with the Israeli Peace Coalition (IPC). The PPC is financed by international donors, expecially the european Commission and European countries that have supported the Geneva Initiative. The ppc is chaired by the Executive Committee of the PLO, former minister of culture and information, Yaser Abed Rabo. The IPC is headed by former minister of justice and member of the knesset, Yossi Beilin. Both Rabo and Beilin were co-authors of the unofficial Geneva Initiative peace plan.
