The following organizations, coalitions and networks share a common commitment to many of the issues that are of primary importance to MFSA in the struggle for justice, peace and liberation. MFSA seeks to give particular support to many of the initiatives taken by these groups.

General Board of Church and Society (GBCS)

Located in Washington, DC, theGBSC is one of four general program boards of The United Methodist Church. The prime responsibility of the board is to seek the implementation of the Social Principles and other policy statements of the General Conference on Christian social concerns. The major issues addressed by the board include: environmental justice; social and economic justice concerns; peace with justice; womens issues; civil and human rights; health care; and children, youth and family concerns.
General Commission on Christian Unity and Interreligious
Concerns (GCCUIC) of The United Methodist Church.

The GCCUIC advocates and works for the full reception of the gift of Christian unity in every aspect of the Church's life and to foster approaches to ministry and mission that more fully reflect the oneness of Christ's church in the human community. It seeks to establish and strengthen relationships with other living faith communities, and to further dialogue with persons of other faiths, cultures, and ideologies.

GCORR challenges the general agencies, institutions, and connectional structures of The United Methodist Church to a full and equal participation of the racial and ethnic constituency in the total life and mission of the Church through advocacy and by reviewing and monitoring the practices of the entire Church so as to further ensure racial inclusiveness.

The Womens Division of the General Board of Global Ministriesof the United Methodist Church is actively engaged in fulfilling the mission of Christ and the Church and interprets the purpose of United Methodist Women. The division advocates for the oppressed and dispossessed with special needs of women, children and youth works to build a supportive community among women, and helps foster growth in the Christian faith, mission education, and Christian social involvement.

Affirmation

Affirmation is an activist caucus of lesbian, gay, bisexual and tansgendered people that pursues policies and processes that support full participation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people in all areas and levels of the United Methodist Church. Affirmation seeks to overcome the barriers that diminish our common humanity by excluding or judging people because of their race, gender, class, or physical abilities and to empower people to undertake works of inclusion and justice where they are.
The Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN)

The Reconciling Ministries Network is a growing movement of United Methodist individuals, congregations, campus ministries, and other groups working for the full participation of all people in the United Methodist Church. This grassroots organization strives to enable full participation of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities in the life of the United Methodist Church, both in policy and practice. With a national office located in Chicago, RMN is an independent, not-for-profit organization.

Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR)

For thirty years the ICCR has been a leader of the corporate social responsibility movement. ICCR's membership is an association of 275 Protestant, Roman Catholic and Jewish institutional investors, including national denominations, religious communities, pension funds, endowments, hospital corporations, economic development funds and publishing companies.
