Beth Stroud Trial Information

The trial of Beth Stroud is scheduled for Dec 1 - Dec 3 at Innabah, a UMC camp/conference center. Several groups and individuals will be attending all or part of the trial to support Beth, Beth's partner and their congregation. I will join with others to be an MFSA "presence" at the trial, advocating for MFSA’s vision for full inclusion of LGBT persons in the life of the UMC.

Dates of trial: December 1, 2 and possibly 3 at Camp Innabah, 712 Pughtown Rd, Spring City, PA

• The First UMC of Germantown, Beth's congregation, is working hard to make our presence felt as a protection and consolation to her, and as a clear statement of our belief in an inclusive church, reaching out lovingly to all.

• There will be morning, midday and end of day prayer services outside the hall.

• A witness of posters/signs emphasizing God's love for all peoples and as many people inside the trial room as we can get to be a supportive presence.

• Press packets will be available for all qualified observers.

• Right now it is our understanding that the session inside will begin with a prayer service at 10 am.

• A large number of elders have been selected, from which the "Court" of 13 will be chosen.
